The Title Of Liberty!

I love the Book of Mormon, and I love the spiritual analogies for our day that are contained in it. The records were so vast, and the plates so rare and precious, and the writing so tedious, that so much had to be condensed into so little...so there is not ONE WORD in the Book of Mormon that was not crucial for our times, not one word of the book that the Lord did not think was important for us to have.
I have been thinking about Captain Moroni and his title of liberty. Captain Moroni was a very righteous man who found himself caught up in the middle of a war. Surely he had much better things to spend his time on than fighting a war, but the majority of his life was spent fighting for the cause of right. At one crucial moment in time, he rent his coat and wrote these infamous words on it:
"In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children."
And he fastened it to the end of a pole, then he put on his armor, and bowed himself to the earth and "he prayed mightily unto his God for the blessings of liberty to rest upon his brethren, so long as there should a band of Christians remain to possess the land— And all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come." (Alma 46:12-15)

This morning my friend Melody sent me this link to a 3½ minute video clip put out by CatholicVote.com calling on all Catholics and Christians to unite and let their voices be heard in defense of Life, Faith, and Family and the moral values that our country was built on. Please take a few moments to watch this awe-inspiring clip.

It's time to hoist the "Title of Liberty" and let our voices be heard.
